What Rapid Antigen Tests are used at swabbingmalta.com?
We use the Clungene Rapid Test COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test Cassette which is a reliable, rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific antigens of SARS-CoV-2. This product is among the list of nationally approved RAT tests. The sample is collected from the nostrils making the procedure a very comfortable one.
How accurate are the results?
The Clungene Rapid Test has a specificity of 99.2% and sensitivity of 95.5%. It is considered among the top RATs available on the market.
A RAT is at its highest sensitivity potential to detect cases when the viral load is high and in pre-symptomatic and early symptomatic cases (up to 5 days from symptom onset). These cases account for a significant proportion of transmission.
